Publishing My University Course Lectures

Join me and guests for lectures on creative business and leading creative lives

Hey there, it’s been a while, but I’m coming back with something new. This semester, I’ve been asked to teach a course at Virginia Commonwealth University on the creative economy. I’m treating this as a podclass. I know that sounds lame in title, but you probably get it right away. It lives between a podcast and a class. I want to make the course lectures and interviews available for those of you navigating the creative economy. I’ll also be sharing these lectures and interviews on YouTube here (would love for you to subscribe).

These lectures build on my book and teaching platform, Think Louder- a creative guidebook for the wandering mind, including select lessons from my course Ideacraft, Voice and Vision. You can find a lot of them over on Proko.com, including a lot of hands on painting and drawing demonstrations.

My course has a single, basic premise: Earn your first dollar. Sound familiar? This is the concept behind the online marketplace Gumroad.

Gumroad has been important in helping me get new ideas out to a market and the Small Product Lab they used to run years ago helped me get to launch.

I’ve got some amazing creators, adventurers and entrepreneurs that I’ll be interviewing this semester. Would you like to share some time with me on stage and present something that would benefit the students? Please reach out, as I’m always looking for new perspectives. sterling@sterlinghundley.com

In addition, my brother and I are launching a small print/pop culture company and I’ll be sharing updates on how we build it out as a case study for the course.

The introduction and lecture from the first video are above. The video quality and audio are a work in progress, but you have to start somewhere. I hope it helps you in your creative journey.

Think Louder,

Sterling
